Loma Drake

Loma McClain Drake, 97, of Midland, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2018.

She was born on September 1, 1921 to the late Savannah and Olive (Williams) McClain in Lancaster, SC.

Loma was the matriarch of five generations.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, sewing, and loved her flowers.  She will be missed my many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by husband, Sherman Marshall Drake; daughters, Frances Drake and Becky Crayton; nine brothers and sisters; grandsons, David Lane Drake and Ricky Hartsell; granddaughter, Monica Crayton; and one great-granddaughter, Casey Drake.

Loma is survived by her loving three sons, Jerry (Andrea)  Drake, Larry (Nancy) Drake, Sherman "Joe" (Lana) Drake; ten grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; and twenty six great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2-3:00pm, Sunday, November 4, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Midland. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00pm in the church with the Reverend Thomas Gibbs officiating.  Burial will take place in the First Baptist of Midland Cemetery.
