Lloyd Eugene Hill, 94, of Charlotte, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, at The Addison of Indian Trail in Monroe.
Mr. Hill was born November 2, 1929, in Union County, North Carolina to the late William Lee Hill and the late Martha York Hill.
He was also preceded in death by siblings Dowd Hill, Verdie Mae Rogers, Maxine Craven, Faye Dean Stikeleather and Leon Hill.
Mr. Hill graduated from Bain High School in 1947, where he was class Valedictorian and known for having the highest GPA upon graduation. Mr. Hill worked for Grinnell Fire Protection in Charlotte as Southeastern District Controller and retired in 1987. Upon his retirement, he followed his worldly passion and became a country truck farmer where he would put on his hat, overalls with long sleeves, and disappear into the vegetables growing on his farm.
Mr. Hill was a deeply righteous and spiritual man. Those who knew him well would likely have seen him as a Bible scholar without the title. He devoted his life to searching for grace and knowledge of the truth. He will be remembered by his family, friends, and loved ones as someone who always put God first and foremost in his life. All who knew him will miss him so much. With sincere love, respect, and gratitude we thank him for enhancing our lives.
