Linda Yates Tate, 71 of Concord, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Tucker Hospice House. The family will receive friends at Pitts Baptist Church on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 9:30 until 11 am. Funeral services will follow at the church at 11 am, with Rev. Scott Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg. Linda was born on May 30, 1941 in Cabarrus County, to the late William Artley Yates and Helen Bennett Yates. She was also preceded in death by her husband Frank Dean Tate, son Jeffrey Lynn Tate, two sisters and two brothers. Linda was an English teacher for 30 years in the NC Public school system. She was a member of Pitts Baptist Church, where she was a member of The Women of Faith, and the Sunday School Breakfast Club. She is survived by: son, Michael Tate and wife Michelle of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Kaley and Ethan Tate; special friend, Lib Riley.
