Linda Noles Statham

April 5, 1942 — May 26, 2026

Concord

It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved Linda Noles Statham on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Linda passed away peacefully at her home in Concord in the comforting presence of her loved ones, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever. She was 84 years old.

Born on April 5, 1942, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Linda was the cherished daughter of Henry Van Dyke Noles and Wilma Kelly Noles. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Mark Statham; her sisters, Ellen Noles Davis and Virginia Noles Clark; her brother, Henry Van Dyke Noles Jr.; and son-in-law, Scott Sloop. Each left an indelible mark on her life, and she carried their memories with her always.

Linda found her soulmate in James Franklin Statham, whom she married on a warm summer day, August 12, 1960. Together, they built a life filled with love and happiness, nurturing their three children, Kathy Statham Nash, Robin Statham Sloop, and the late Steven Mark Statham, who were their pride and joy. Linda and James devoted themselves to their family and to their shared passion, founding and operating The Grapevine Gift Shop for 32 years. Following their retirement in 2005, they found immense joy in spending their time with family, especially their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy and laughter into their lives.

Linda's heart was as expansive as her family, which includes her daughters, Kathy Statham Nash and her husband, Robb Griggs, and Robin Statham Sloop. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Daniel Thore and his wife, Katrina Thore, Nicholas Thore, Jeremy Sloop, Michael Nash, and Lyndsay Nash. She was also blessed to be the great-grandmother to Malia, Hayes, Harper, Mariah, and Penelope, who were the twinkles in her eyes and sources of boundless pride.

Known for her quick wit and warm smile, Linda had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. Her kindness and love were the cornerstones of her life, creating a sense of belonging and warmth that extended to all who crossed her path. Her home was a sanctuary of love, laughter, and togetherness, where every gathering was a celebration of life and family.

A graveside service in celebration of Linda's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Carolina Memorial Park Harrisburg, 12015 University City Blvd., Charlotte. Please join the family in gathering to remember the love, joy, and countless memories she gifted to each of them. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.

In this time of mourning, we invite all who knew her to reflect on the beautiful life Linda led-a life filled with love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. May her memory be a blessing and her legacy a guiding light for all who knew her.
