Linda Ann Howell

Linda Ann Helms Howell, 73, of Denton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, held in the promise of her faith.

Born on May 7, 1952, in Concord, Linda was the daughter of the late Clyde Helms and the late Mary “Rita” Gunter. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Edward Howell, and her brother, Larry Helms.

Linda was as a 1970 graduate of Concord High School. She married the love of her life on December 1, 1971. Linda had a heart for serving others—if someone needed a meal, a visit, or simply to feel cared for, she was there without hesitation. Her generosity was quiet but constant, a reflection of the faith she carried so naturally.

Her greatest joy was her family. Linda was endlessly proud of her granddaughters and great‑grandchildren, and she never missed a chance to be part of their lives. Whether cheering from the audience at a dance competition, listening at a choral concert, attending church events, or picking them up from school, she showed up with love every single time. Her presence was steady, gentle, and full of warmth.

Linda will be remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a deeply cherished grandmother and great‑grandmother. Her kindness, honesty, and quiet strength will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with Edward and resting in the peace of her Savior.

Left to honor her memory are her son, Michael Howell of Denton; her daughter, Kelly (Kevin) Morgan of China Grove; granddaughters Emma Morgan and McKenzie Howell; and great‑grandchildren Bailey and Luke Howell.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor Harold Davis. Linda will be laid to rest beside her husband at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Cabarrus, in gratitude for the compassionate care they provide.
