Linda V. Hammonds

 Linda Hammonds, 79, of Charlotte passed away Monday, October 27, 2025, at home with her loving family.

 Linda was born on June 2, 1946, in Boone, North Carolina to the late Hattie Vines. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jo Thomas.

 Linda grew up in the mountains of North Carolina and was a graduate of Appalachian High School. Most of her life she worked as a bookkeeper before switching over to local government and ultimately retiring from the City of Charlotte in 2014. Linda loved her family and spending time with her kids and grandkids was always her favorite thing to do.

 The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg in Harrisburg. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery at 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte.

 Survivors include daughter, Tracy (Al) Ratcliffe, son, Frankie Hammonds, daughter, Tonya (Bob) McGovern, brother, Ned (Sheila) Vines, grandson Scott (Danielle) Ratcliffe, granddaughters Holly Ratcliffe and Chloe McGovern, grandson Jaxon Hammonds, and great grandson Dakota Ratcliffe.
