Leona Pressley
March 9, 1928 — November 3, 2015
Leona Pressley, 87 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Leona was born March 9, 1928 in Cabarrus County to the late Albert Jerome Blackwelder and the late Cora McCall. She was also preceded in death by her husband Harold Max Pressley, Sr.; brothers, Floyd, Lawrence, Fred, Wick and A.J. Blackwelder; sisters, Faye Biggers and Betty Jean Cranford.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 6 from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm at Pitts Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm in the church sanctuary, officiated by Pastor Scott Davis. Burial will follow at Pitts Baptist Church Cemetery.
Leona graduated from Odell High School of Concord in 1945.
Survivors include daughter, Sue Bearden & husband, Lars of Davidson; sons, Steven Pressley & wife, Debra of Concord, Max Pressley & wife, Jan of Mint Hill; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Pitts Baptist Church Building Fund, 140 Pitts School Rd NW, Concord, NC.
