LaVerne Weekly Barton, 99 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Spring Arbor.
LaVerne was born June 9, 1915 in Kansas to the late Bruce Weekly and the late Justine Weekly. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Horace Arvil Barton, on August 3, 2000.
A graveside service officiated by Pastor Albin Greenwood will be on Friday, January 2, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 East Main Street, Albemarle.
Survivors include son, Bruce (Julie) Barton of Atlanta, GA; and grandson, Daniel Barton of San Marcos, TX.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
