Larry Pope

Mr. Larry Pope, age 75, of 2702 White Street, Holden Beach, NC died Friday, February 5, at his daughter's home in Concord, NC. Formerly of Charlotte, NC, he was born February 8, 1934 to the late Jason Webster Pope and Bernice Causey Pope. He is survived by his wife Frances Hatley Pope, son Mitch Pope and wife Brenda, Mint Hill, daughter Glenda Pope Jordan and husband Bobby, Concord, grandchildren Lindsay, Kevin, Jennifer, Nicole, Wendy, Heather, Kenny and Vinnie. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Trenton, Mykayla, Madeline, Tyler, Michael, Gavin, Chase, Bailey, Patrick and Lilly. He was in building maintenance for the City of Charlotte. He was a member of Barbee's Grove Baptist Church. A visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 7, from 6 - 8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home, 522 N. Second Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. The service will take place Monday, Feb. 8, at 2:00 PM at Barbee's Grove Baptist Church, 24819 - Barbee's Grove Rd., Oakboro, NC 28129 with Rev. Terry Burris officiating. His body will lie in state for thirty minutes before the service. Interment will take place in the church cemetery following the service.
