Kenneth Harrison

Kenneth L. Harrison, 81 years of age, of Concord, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at his home in Concord.

Kenneth was born December 21, 1934 in Rowan County, to the late Kenneth Reid Harrison and the late Vernie Lee McSwain Harrison. He was also preceded in death by his best friends Doc Whitley and Ronald Cooke.

Ken is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Helms Harrison; son, Chris Harrison and girlfriend Donel Williams; son, Stoney Harrison and fiance Sheila Barksdale; grandson, Kyle Harrison and wife Courtney; granddaughters, Allison Harrison, Bethany Harrison and Haley Harrison; former daughter-in-law, Theresa Harrison; sisters-in-law, Gladys Doster,
Bobbie Sue Troutman (Gary), and Leavon McDaniel (Mack).

Ken retired from Duke Power in 1990. He loved taking his 57 Chevy to local cruise-ins, and going to the beach. Ken proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1957, and was stationed in Italy, Austria and Germany. Ken adored his family and will be truly missed.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 9th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 10th, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Roberta United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Jim Church. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, with military honors.
