Keith Abbott, age 72, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born on October 8, 1953.
An avid racing enthusiast, he had a lifelong love for fast cars, hot rods, and the roar of engines. Whether he was watching a race, talking about cars, or sharing stories from the track, racing was one of the things that brought him the most joy.
Above all else, he loved his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether cheering them on, sharing laughs, or telling stories, those moments meant the world to him.
He was incredibly social and truly never met a stranger. With an easy smile and a gift for conversation, he could turn a quick hello into a lasting friendship. He also loved simple moments in life—especially spending time in the garage, drinking a cold beer and talking cars and life with his buddies.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Pete and Dorothy Abbott and Evelyn Teetsell, his parents, George and Mae Abbott and many family and good friends.
He is survived by Cherie Abbott, his love of 52 years, his daughter and son-in-law Ashley & Dwight Evans, grandchildren Nolan and Reilly Evans, sister Tina Zacharias (Bill) and brother Kirk Abbott (Melissa). He also had many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Those who knew him know that he lived life the way he loved racing- full throttle, surrounded by the people who mattered most. Though his race here has come to an end, the memories he leaves behind will continue to carry us forward.
