Katherine Torrence

Katherine Honeycutt Torrence, 86, of Concord, went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, due to a long illness. Mrs. Torrence was born on August 26, 1926 to the late Odis B. and Mattie Lawing Honeycutt. Mrs. Torrence was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Torrence; sisters, Dorothy Sean Honeycutt and Helen Honeycutt Ford; brothers, Odis B. Honeycutt Jr., Hubert L. Honeycutt and Kenneth R. Honeycutt; and a great- great-granddaughter Monica Burrell. Mrs. Torrence is survived by daughter, Linda Brown Cress and husband Gerald; step-daughter, Linda Howard and husband Melvin; grandson, Jeff Cress and wife Kim; granddaughters, Kathy Williams and husband Bob and Lisa Murray and fiancé Rickie; ten great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Honeycutt Duffell of Charlotte; and Ann Sullivan, she loved her like a daughter. Mrs. Torrence was a member of Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis and deeply loved her church family. We are blessed to have a Christian mother and grandmother. The family will receive friends at Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis, Thursday, August 29, 2013 12pm-1pm with service to follow at 1pm, officiated by Pastor Marty Payton and Pastor Ron Bushy. Burial will take place at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte NC. Memorials can be made to Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Ln. Kannapolis, NC 28081.
