Katherine Rogers

Katherine Plowman Rogers, 87 years of age, of New London, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family, Friday, May 1, 2015 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Mrs. Rogers was born June 2, 1927 in Stanly County to the late Archie Dean Plowman and the late Mamie Odessa Hahn Plowman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Rogers; daughter, Donna Kaye Vanhoy; brothers, Oliver Grant, Lee Roy, and A.D. Plowman; and sister, Jennie Agness Almond.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-3:00pm, Monday, May 4, 2015 at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. The graveside service will follow at 3pm and will be officiated by Rev. Ron Honeycutt. The family will also receive friends after the service.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara Ann (Jerry) Kearns of Mt. Pleasant; son, Boyce Helms of Concord; brother, Donald Franklin Plowman; sister, Ruth Burris Coggins; five grandchildren, Melissa (Gary) Earnhardt, Donna Lynne (Kenneth) Hatley, Amy (Stephen) Austin, Heath Hartley, and Nikki (Cody) Baird; eleven great grandchildren, Kirk, Amanda, Betsy, Lillie, Abby, Sarah, Brooke, Brody, Braxton, Cameron, Hunter; and great great grandchild Kash Hatley.
