Karen Radke Allan, 75, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Karen was born on August 14, 1950, in South Dakota. She lived a life centered around family, laughter, hard work, and caring for others. She was known for her wicked sense of humor, her stubborn spirit, and the deep love she had for the people and animals around her.
Karen worked for the City of Albemarle and later for Harris Teeter, where she made many lasting friendships through the years. No matter where life took her, family remained the center of her world. She was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.
She loved baking for those she cared about and was happiest when feeding family, friends, or anyone lucky enough to stop by her kitchen. Karen also had a special love for animals and found joy in donating treats for children attending summer camp at a local barn. Her kindness, humor, and generous heart touched many lives.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, William Craig Allan; her mother, Dorothy Schley; her stepfather LaVerne Schley; and her brothers, Robert Radke and Ronald Radke.
She is survived by her son, William Christopher Allan and his wife, Jennifer; her daughter, Jennifer Shore and her husband, Ethan; her five cherished grandchildren CJ, Libee, Andrew, Rebekah, and Daniel; her beloved best friend, Pat Whitley; and her faithful dog, Bailey.
Karen will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, her fierce love for her family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
