Kala Martin

Kala Marie Martin, 23, of Kannapolis, entered into rest on Sunday, March 29, 2015. She was greeted in Heaven by her grandmother, Peggy Smith, grandfather, Lorry Martin and cousin, Christopher Leatherman.

She is survived by the light of her world, her precious baby girl, Riley Starr Thompson., Joshua "Dakota" Thompson, parents, Robert and Beverly Martin, brother, Nick Martin, grandfather, Ralph "Dewey" Smith, grandmother, Joyce Martin, aunts and uncles, Ralph and Linda Smith, Angela and George Leatherman, Curtis and Janet Vance, Scott and Ellen Tomeberlin, cousins, Stacy Ramsey, Ralph Smith, III, Beth Badgette, Richard Martin, Meagan Babb, Bradley Leatherman, Gareth Tomberlin and Allen Vance, five second cousins and her closest friends, Tabatha Reynolds, Kaitlin Steen, Holdon Yow, Najla Jafar, Nikki Price, Randy Rayfield, Robin Billings and many more.

She graduated from A.L. Brown High School and was employed by Glen's BBQ. She was a wonderful mommy, daughter, sister, niece and friend. Her smile lit up a room when she walked in. She was always the first one to lend a helping hand. Kala will be greatly missed.

A memorial service, officiated by Reverend Richard Wilson, will be held on Saturday, April 4th at 2:00 p.m. at Harvest Community Church, 4284 Orphanage Road, Concord, NC.
