June Treece

June Freeze Treece, 92, of Chester, Virginia, passed away at her residence on Monday, April 27, 2026.

June was born December 25, 1933, in North Carolina to the late Thadeus Smoot Freeze and the late Mabel Kiser Freeze. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, LTC Ausby Junior Treece. She was survived by her son, Ted Treece of Chesterfield, VA.

June had a full life in her 92 years. She graduated from Concord high school which she always had fond memories of and attended all the reunions until she was no longer able. She graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh North Carolina with a teaching degree and taught Elementary school for many years before retiring in 1976. June traveled the world with her husband on various Army assignments living in California, North Carolina, Thailand, Germany, New jersey and finally Virginia. She was an active member of the Officers Wives club for many years serving as Treasurer and Thrift Shop Coordinator. In her later years she enjoyed her retirement home by the lake where she could look out and see the water and all the wildlife which was abundant.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm, Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis, 601 Mt. Olivet Rd., Concord.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Meredith College: donor.meredith.edu.
