With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Judy Stokes, who left us peacefully on November 29, 2024, at the age of 73. She was a guiding light in our lives, a source of unconditional love, and a beacon of strength for our family.
Born on September 21, 1951, in Concord, Judy dedicated her life to nurturing those around her. She was not just a mother but a friend, mentor, and confidante. Her laughter could brighten the darkest days, and her warm embrace offered comfort like no other. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special, and her kindness touched the lives of many.
Judy was passionate about dancing, fishing, and walks on the beach, and she shared these passions with her family, instilling in us a love for each other. Whether she was at home relaxing, eating out with family, shopping, or walking on the beach, her spirit was infectious, and she encouraged us to pursue our dreams with vigor and determination.
Her legacy lives on in her children, Lorie Lisenby of Norwood, Ricky Mauldin (Heather) of Monroe, and Lisa Walker (Christopher) of Monroe, who carry her love and wisdom in their hearts. She is also survived by grandkids, Christopher Radspinner of Matthews, Courtney Dahl (Jared) of Monroe, Shaelyn Lisenby of Norwood, Brennan Lisenby of Norwood, Hailey Mauldin of Monroe, Mark Mauldin of Monroe, Austin Mauldin of Monroe, Bradley Chaplin-Beane (Bryce) of Pageland, Amanda Sikes of Monroe, Joshua Holshouser of Monroe. She is survived by four sisters, Cathy Peale (Jimmy) of Waxhaw, Doris Clontz of Waxhaw, Robin Helms (Mike) of Monroe, and Shirley Kuykendall (Cliff) of Monroe; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who cherish her memories they shared with her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Delphia Kiker, father, Melvin Kiker, brother Tommy Kiker, and granddaughter Cheyanne Mauldin.
We will forever remember her as a woman of grace, compassion, and unwavering love. As we mourn her loss, we celebrate her life, the lessons she imparted, and the love she gave so freely. A celebration of life service will be held on December 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Oakland Baptist Church, 600 East Sunset Drive, Monroe NC 28112, where we invite all who knew her to come and share their memories.
Rest in peace, dear Mom. You will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
