Juanita Holder Smith

Juanita Smith, 86, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.

Juanita was born May 8, 1939, in North Carolina to the late Walter Holder and the late Gladys William Holder.

She was also preceded in death by husband, Thomas Edwin Smith, Sr.; daughter, Peggy Houston; brothers, Walter Holder Jr., Billy Holder, Richard Holder; sisters, Annie Holder Smith, Lois Holder; and grandson, Shane Deaton.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 11:45 am, Monday, March 2, 2026, at Full Gospel Mission Church, located at 24575 NC-73, Albemarle, NC. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm officiated by Pastor Mitchell Cook. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park at 4125 Franklin Comm Center Road, Salisbury.

Juanita was a wonderful daughter,wife, mother, and grandmaw. She enjoyed spending time sewing and gardening, but her most cherished moments were all the times that she got to spend at church and with her family. Juanita was a very strong and independent woman who loved the Lord with all her heart, and was a devoted Christian who spent her days following the Word and sharing the Word with others.

Survivors include son, Frankie Eugene (Debbie) Houston of Salisbury, NC, daughter, Mary Ann Houston of Salisbury, NC, daughter, Wanda Jean McDaniel of Trinity, NC; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
