Juanita Hartsell

Juanita Stancil Hartsell, 86 years of age, of Locust, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Juanita was born July 26, 1929 in Cabarrus County to the late Frank Stancil and the late Jewell Patterson Stancil Wallace. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Hartsell; grandson, Keith Allen Smith; brothers, Ralph, J.W., Frank; and sister, Sue.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm - 3:00pm, Friday, March 25, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will follow at 3:00pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tony Parsons. The burial will be at the Community Baptist Church Cemetery, 818 North Central Avenue, Locust. At other times, the family will be meeting at her home.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra McIntyre of Concord; son, Bennie Joe Hartsell of Oakboro; four grandchildren, Chris Smith, Steven Smith, Brandon Hartsell, Matthew Hartsell; six great-grandchildren; and companion, Raymond Little.

Juanita loved cooking for her family and traveling. She enjoyed going camping and fishing in the Outer Banks.
