Joyce Tucker

Joyce Marie Harvell Tucker, 75 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Mrs.Tucker was born August 31, 1937 in Albemarle to the late William Shakespeare Harvell and the late Leah Catherine Harvell . She was also preceded in death by husband, Willie James Tucker; sisters, Christine H. Morris, Laura H. Burris, Auta H. Tucker and Isabelle Thomas; brothers, Wesley, George, Jim and Hugh Harvell; half sisters, Roseanna H. Drye and Mandy H. Tucker; half brothers Math Harvell and Rhette H. Smith. The funeral service will be at Mission Baptist Church in Locust on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Rev. Jeremy Hyde and Rev. Chip Alsobrook. A 30 minute state will be held prior to the service. Burial will follow at Running Creek PBC. The family extends an open invitation to visit the family at the home of her daughter, Deborah Tucker, at 5:30 pm on Sunday immediately following the burial at Running Creek PBC. At other times, friends and family may come by the funeral home anytime Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning to pay their respects. Survivors include daughter, Deborah M. Tucker of Locust and son, John C. and wife, Anne Tucker of Oakboro; grandsons, Tucker Morton, Allen Tucker and granddaughter, Lisa Huneycutt; greatgrandchildren, Lacie T., Bruce T. and Katy Huneycutt, Sarah Estep and Jessie Efird.
