Joyce Lillian Lavene, 61 years of age, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Lavene was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to Ralph Henry Koch and the late Joan Blocker Koch.
Joyce was an accomplished national bestselling author and award winning photojournalist. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
The family will be having private memorial service at a later date.
Survivors include husband, James Ellis Lavene; son, Christopher Robin Lavene; daughters Jennifer Lavene Chappelle, and Emily Lavene Andreis; three grandsons, Eric Chappelle, Jason Andreis, and Anthony Andreis; two granddaughters, Gabrielle Andreis and Katharine Chappelle; and a brother, Michael Koch, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
