Joyce Ann Connell

Joyce Ann Connell, 77 years of age, of Concord, NC went home to be with her Lord on July 28, 2025.

Joyce was born August 10, 1947 in Concord, North Carolina to the late William Caldwell Hill, Jr. and the late Lora Frances Hill. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Connell and grandson, Zachary Eubanks.

Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Tommy Connell of Concord, NC; daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Mayfield of Concord, NC; daughter, Cynthia Eubanks of Unionville, NC; granddaughter, Breanna Mayfield; grandson, Dylan Mayfield; granddaughter, Hayle Eubanks; sister, Linda (Doyle) Maulden; sister Paulette (Randy) Burris; sister, Audrey (Jim) Swayney; brother, Mitchell (Pam) Hill; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Joyce Ann Hill Connell, a native of Cabarrus County and graduate of Odell High School, Class of 1964, was a devoted and loving wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother. Known for her kind and caring nature, Joyce had a deep love for the beach, gardening, flowers, and lighthouses. She enjoyed canning and sewing, and she especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren,

attending their sporting events. Joyce held fond memories of her upbringing and often shared heartfelt stories of her childhood with friends and loved ones. She was active in her faith, serving faithfully at Fellowship Baptist Church and later becoming a member of Parkway Baptist Church after moving to Concord. In her younger years, she enjoyed horseback riding and carried that joyful spirit throughout her life. Joyce also dedicated many years to Cabarrus County Schools, working in child nutrition, where she cared deeply for the well-being of the children she served. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family.

The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm on August 2, 2025, at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Dr. NW, Concord, NC 28027. The funeral service to celebrate Joyce's life will follow, officiated by Rev. Steve Triplett and Rev. Michael Waters. The burial will take place at Robinson Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
