Joy Donnell Glass

Joy Donnell Glass, 62, of Concord, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 25, 2025.

Joy was born October 29, 1962, in Brandon, Florida, to John and Jeanette Donnell. In addition to her parents, Joy is also survived by her beloved husband, David Glass; daughter, Samantha (Brandon) Berray; grandchildren, Jay and Alaina Berray; brother, Rodney Thad Donnell; step-daughters, Bristol (Alex) Glass-Reynolds and Bailey Glass; and step-son, George Glass.

Joy was a majorette in high school, full of life, and made many friends. She then started her career in Florida at SunTrust bank, ending in a great climb to the top with FIS Global in North Carolina. She was career driven, motivated, and determined to secure her spot. Many remember her favorite pastimes being listening to 80’s hair bands, cooking, watching football, and spoiling her grandbabies. Joy was a lover of Jesus and always made decisions with Him, keeping faith, and moving with grace. She leaves behind a great legacy. Many are left with memories of her humor, her laughter, and her wit. She was someone you could turn to in a time of need knowing she would be there. Joy will be forever loved and deeply missed.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Hartsell Funeral Home's chapel.
