Joshua Paul Whitley

Joshua Paul Whitley, age 42 of Midland, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital.

A graveside service will be held October 25, 2026 at 2pm, at Red Cross Baptist Cemetery, 112 West Red Cross Road, Oakboro, North Carolina.

Josh was born on December 1, 1983 to Les Whitley and Teresa Whitley.

He is survived by his father, Les Whitley of Midland, mother-Teresa Bowen and her husband Darren Bowen of Lancaster, SC; his brothers, Alex Whitley of Midland, and Phillip Birmingham of Midland, and many cousins.

Josh was a quiet, reserved person who loved animals, especial his cat Jasmine, music and going to shows, and being with his brother Alex.

He loved to travel to other countries and learn their cultures and languages.

He worked in the family business for over 20 years. He wasn't perfect but had a soul that felt things deeply and had many people that loved him whether he knew it or not.

His profession of Christ at an early age gives us the faith that Josh is in the hands of the Lord now and we will see him again.
