Joseph Boyter

Joseph Darrell Boyter, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, NC, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011, in Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. Mr. Boyter was born March 2, 1942, in Greer, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Benjamin Boyter; mother, Margaret Boyter Baynard; and son, Joseph Michael Boyter. He served in the U. S. Marines and was a presidential guard for President John F. Kennedy. The family will receive friends 7 – 9 p.m., Thursday, April 14, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Midland, officiated by Pastor Ron Nichols. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include his daughter, Cherri Boyter, of the home; grandson, James Augusta Smith, of the home; and sisters, Judy McFadden of Forest City, NC, and Kathy Ware, of Greenville, SC. Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, is serving the Boyter family.
