Johnny Hinson

Johnny “John” Mack Hinson, 79 of Midland, NC, passed away peacefully at home on 1/6/2023 following a period of declining health.

Born on October 1, 1943 in Concord, NC, he was the son of the late Jesse R. Hinson and the late Addie Johnson Earp.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Locust. The funeral service will follow the visitation, officiated by Rev. Dr. Tommy Ross, Jr.

Mr. Hinson retired from B&R Body Shop after 30 years of loyal service. John honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a golfer, he played when he was younger and enjoyed watching on TV while his health declined.  John had a strong Christian faith & loved the Lord with all his heart. He was quiet with his faith, but his actions were louder than his words.  John has been a member of New Harvest Church of Harrisburg for the last several years, but recently attended First Baptist Church of Locust. He lived the faith he believed & loved God. He knew when he left this earth he would be living with his savior.  We will all miss him, but we know where he is & where he will spend eternity!  To God be the Glory.

His loving family members include his wife Barbara Helms Hinson of 55 years, his daughters Jessica Turner (Bryan) & Jennifer Hartsell (Darren). He had 5 grandchildren; Jordan Webb (Fiancé Matthew), Jesie Hartsell (Jordan), Isaac Turner (Erin), Caroline Turner (Fiancé Lucas), Jace Webb (Ally) & 8 great grandchildren whom he loved dearly;  half brother, Jesse (Sonny) Hinson from Naples, Florida  and step-sister, Norma Pruitt from Landrum, SC.
