John Howell

John Merritt Howell, 84, of Concord, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Accordius Nursing and Rehabilitation in Concord.

Mr. Howell was born November 8, 1938 in North Carolina to the late John Adam Howell and the late Myrtle Howell.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Jerry Ketmen Howell, brother, Billy Vance Howell, Sr, sister, Madeline Potts Love.

Mr. Howell was loving and hardworking man.  John had a special love for driving trucks for McLean Trucking in which he did for over 20 years.  He also retired from Morgan Corporation after many years of excellent service. John was a proud member of the National Guard and served his country with dignity and honor.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord officiated by Pastor Eric Shaver. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery located at 601 Mount Olivet Rd, Concord, NC 28025 with military honors.

Survivors include wife, Linda Kay Howell of Concord, NC, son, Jeffery Michael (Ellen) Howell, son, Jarrod Mitchell (Lisa) Howell, brother, Tony Eugene (Becky) Howell, brother, Keith Douglas (Cathy) Howell and grand-daughter, Randi Howell.
