John Coley, Sr

John Ray Coley, Sr., went home to our Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 15, 2014. John was born and raised in Concord, NC to George and Raymell Coley. After serving his country in the United States Air Force, John spent the majority of his years serving the community of Concord as a leader in youth athletics and through his work at the bank.

He married the love of his life, Frances Carnes Coley, on February 3, 1962 and is survived by Frances and their four children; John Ray Coley, Jr. and wife Suzanne, Donna Coley Ridings and husband Billy, Andy Coley and wife Shannon and Scott Coley and wife Anne; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Coley, Elizabeth Boynton, Alex McConnell, Drew Coley, Austin Coley, Cassidy Coley and Aaron Coley; sister-in-law, Ann Owings Coley and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents George and Raymell Coley and his brother Arnold.

The family received friends from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service followed at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Concord, officiated by Rev. Robert Leonard. Burial then followed at Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg.
