Joey Harwood

Joey Hurley Harwood 67, of Capra Lane Mt. Pleasant went to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday morning, March 8th 2023, in Stanly Atrium Hospital. He was born on September 26, 1955, in Stanly County.

Joey was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening and all animals and nature. He was most happy though when he was singing God's praises. Cancer robbed Joey of his singing voice but he continued to write praises to his Lord. He worked in tree surgery and carpentry.

He was preceded in death by parents Hurley Lonze Harwood and Mary Dick Harwood of the same homeplace.

Joey is survived by a daughter, Tammy Harwood Pannell, two sons Joseph Emanuel Harwood and Jonathan Hurley Harwood (Oakboro) and his fiancee Savannah Duncan and Joey's pride, grandson Levi Hurley Harwood.

Also Joey was survived by three brothers, Phillip Anthony(Tony) Harwood of Albemarle, Randy Lee Harwood of Salisbury and Matthew Alan Harwood of Mt. Pleasant and a sister Linda Harwood Johnson of Albemarle. Johnny Adam Sides was a lifelong friend and loyal companion throughout the years.
