Joey Efird

Joey Parks Efird, 66, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at his home in Matthews, NC.

Joey was born on January 8, 1957, in Albemarle, North Carolina, to the late J. Edward "Ed" Efird and Janice R. Efird of Oakboro. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gregory L. Efird.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Monday, May 1, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Monday, May 1, 2023,  at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Dr. Terrell Watts.  A burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery, Oakboro, North Carolina.

Survivors include his mother Janice R. Efird; brother, Terry R. (Patty) Efird of Charlotte, NC,  two nieces and 3 nephews.

Joey was a happy, joyful, compassionate man who loved people.  He always shared a smile and jokes with others.  Joey was a natural salesman and worked for several car dealerships around the Charlotte area.
