Jimmy Johnson

Jimmy L. Johnson, 91, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024.

Jimmy was born May 26, 1933, in Concord to the late Jake W. Johnson and the late Minnie Stowe. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Alice Elaine Cline.

Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired after 40 years of trucking. Jimmy loved the Lord and served in his church, Providence Baptist Church of Harrisburg. He also loved gardening. In his retirement years, he enjoyed growing and selling vegetables and firewood. Most of all, Jimmy was a loving uncle and friend. 

Survivors include niece, Janice Cline of Charlotte; nephew, Burl (Terri) Cline of Charlotte; nephew, Rick Cline of Charlotte; nephew, Kevin (Kimberly) Cline of Charlotte; nephew, Matt Cline of Charlotte; three great-nephews, Chris (Jenny) Cline of Statesville, Chad (Caitlin) Cline of Denver, CO, and TJ Cline of Rockwell.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:45 am, Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The memorial service with military honors will follow at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Leon Hawks and Rev. Timothy Walters. Burial will follow at Mallard Creek Baptist Church, 3001 Morehead Rd, Charlotte.
