Jimmy Don Billman, 78, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Jimmy Don was born September 28, 1945, in Ingleside, Texas to the late John Oliver Billman and the late Alice Mae Franklin Billman. 
He was also preceded in death by siblings, Jack O. Billman, Richard P. Billman, Helen "Joy" Wright, Carl Billman, and Frank H. Billman; and nephew, Troy Billman.

The family will receive friends from  5:00pm - 7:00pm on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 2:00pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Jon Aney. Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 9:00am at the Salisbury National Cemetery at 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury.

Survivors include wife, Sheila Marie Cole Billman of Albemarle, NC; children, MaeLee Scarlett Billman, Rachael Burleson, Crystal (Michael) Hartsfield, Ben (Jennifer) Billman - all of Texas; bonus children, Dianne Smith of Florida and Zach McMeans of Texas; grandchildren, Katlyn, Kristen, Kristy, Madison, Abigail, Jimmy, Jaycee, and Wesley; 4 great-grandchildren, Ella, Ava, Sophia, and Harper; and several nieces and nephews and many cousins, including Angie Eury and Katie Byerley, both residing locally.

Jimmy Don lived a life of service. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Army. Jimmy Don retired "the first time" as Fire Chief of the East Naples Fire Control District of Naples, FL. He enjoyed many other careers and hobbies in his lifetime, including becoming a published author, photographer, park ranger, and catastrophe adjuster. Jimmy Don and his wife, Sheila, enjoyed traveling for both work and pleasure and mixed the two their whole lives together. Most importantly Jimmy Don loved Jesus and knew Him as his Lord and Savior. He was a faithful member of Palo Duro Cowboy Church of Canyon, TX.
