Jason Scott Hicks, 42, of Monroe, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Jason was born May 27, 1983 in Kentucky to Clyde Stephen Hicks and the late Linda Carol Hicks. He was also preceded in death by sister Rebekah Hicks, grandparents Tom and Virginia Hicks and Carma Hutchinson and uncle Gerald "Mickey" Wilkes.
Jason, a devoted son, brother, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him, lived a life characterized by his loving, compassionate, and generous spirit. Throughout his life, Jason found joy in the outdoors, fishing, and exploring the creation of his Heavenly Father.
During his teenage years Jason developed a passion for music which he demonstrated as a gifted pianist. His love for music continued as he traveled with the New Vibrations Christian Choir. Beyond his passion for music, Jason can be remembered for his work as a skilled brick mason.
Those who knew Jason will recall his infectious smile which had the power to light up any room. One memory his family will cherish is when Jason graduated from Ground40 and surrendered his life to Jesus in 2019.
While his passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
