Jason W. Clayton, 42, of Harrisburg, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024

Jason was born October 3, 1981, in Rockingham, NC, to the late Jimmy Clayton and the late Mary Catherine (Cathy) Arrington.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rebba Honeycutt Clayton; step-dad, Morris Guinn; and sister, Jamie Cottingham.  He also leaves behind four step-grandchildren; a sister-in-love; brothers-in-law; seven nephews; a niece; a niece-in-law; two great nieces; aunts; uncles; cousins; and so many friends and co-workers who will miss him dearly.

While Jason never had any children of his own, he was blessed with nearly enough nephews to make his own football team - of which, the Washington REDSKINS was his lifelong favorite. HTTR!

Jason led a life of service to others.  Every job he had served the public, from being an exterminator for a while to nearly a decade of service at Walmart stores in Concord, to his most recent career as Assistant Manager with Benny Pennello’s Pizza in NoDa, Charlotte.  His brightest light to the world was his time at The Country Home Assisted Living Center in Concord, making a difference in the lives of its residents.  The Country Home is also where he met and fell in love with his wife-to-be.  Once he finally won Rebba's heart and hand, they married in the courtyard at the facility, with many of the residents participating in the ceremony itself on June 22, 2002.

No services are scheduled at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you find a local Suicide Prevention or Grief Support Group and give of yourself however you can.  Check on, listen to, and love your people.  This world is a messed up place and we can do better at looking out for each other.

If you are thinking of harming yourself or know someone who is, please call or text 988 and get help!

Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg is serving the Clayton family.
