Janet Seigler Hunter

Janet Seigler Hunter, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026 surrounded by family.

Janet was born on August 6, 1946 in Pulaski County, Kentucky to the late James P. Seigler and Sylvia Nell Lane Seigler. She graduated from High Point University in 1968 and worked as a mechanical artist for many years. She was a member of Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church. When health permitted, she was an active member of the Presbyterian women’s circle, Backpack Blessings, and volunteered in the church office when needed. She loved reading, listening to music, watching movies, and making crafts.

Survivors include husband, James Hunter of Concord, NC; daughters, Beth Hunter of Newberry Springs, CA, Anna Doering (Michael) of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, and Brett; brother, Jimmy Seigler (Lynn); one sister-in-law, Suzanne Curtis (Jerry); nephews , Kurt Seigler (Kim), Jonathan Seigler, Sam Seigler (Kayla), and Hunter Curtis (Brittney); nieces, Karmi Fossen (Arlen) and Chelsea Allred (Chris); 10 great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hunter is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gene Seigler.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 10 to 10:50 AM at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, 1600 W. Mallard Creek Church Road in Charlotte, NC 28262. The funeral service will follow at 11 AM and will be officiated by Rev. Hunter Roddey. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Backpack Blessings at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church.
