Jane Dudley Harrison

Jane Dudley Harrison, 89, of Albemarle, passed away on Monday October 5th at Atrium Health Stanly. Ms. Harrison was born June 23rd, 1937, in Badin NC to Guy Wendell Harrison and Francis Keith Feamster Harrison. She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Francis Harrison.

Jane was a graduate of Greensboro Women’s College in 1957 and worked in interior design before marrying and having twins. She is survived by her twin children, Chris B. Snyder and wife Paula S. of Washington, NC, and Julia Snyder Curtis and husband Tom of Albemarle, NC. She has four grandchildren and two great grandchildren both of whom will carry on her name. She is also survived by her brother, James Harrison and wife Toni Council Harrison, of Badin, NC. Jane had numerous nieces and nephews as well.

Jane spent many years volunteering with the Badin Historic Museum. Her artwork appeared on cards, brochures and T-shirt designs for the Best of Badin annual festivals. Jane was a talented watercolor painter for most of her life. She delivered hundreds of meals with the Meals on Wheels program in Albemarle and left lifelong memories of adventures while co-leading a local chapter of the Girl Scouts.

Jane was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Aunt, sister, friend and confidant. Her easy nature, artistic talents and quick humor will be missed by all who loved her. Her family would like to extend thanks and gratitude to all the kind caregivers at Spring Arbor of Albemarle. Your kindness and humor was invaluable in her final years!

A celebration of life will be held on Friday December 11th, 3 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.
