Jane Burris Clayton

Dr. Jane Burris Clayton, 77, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, at her home.

Jane was born January 25, 1947, in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Hubert J. Burris and the late Mary Morton Burris. 

Survivors include husband of 57 years, Doug Clayton of the home; daughter, Lisa Clayton of Albemarle, NC; and sister, Brenda B. Huneycutt of Albemarle, NC.

Dr. Clayton taught English at North Stanly High School and Pfeiffer University. She was an avid runner and enjoyed running marathons. Jane also loved the mountains. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tillery Compassionate Care.
