James Tyndall

James "Pete" Earl Tyndall 74, of Stanfield, passed away with his family by his side Friday, December 27, 2013 at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, NC. Mr.Tyndall was born June 6, 1939 in eastern North Carolina to the late Melvin Tyndall and Lizzie Tyndall. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin Tyndall. He was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the US Treasury Department after 34 years of service. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland on Tuesday, December 31 from 12 -2pm. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2pm officiated by Rev. Charlie Littlejohn. Burial will follow at the Charlotte Memorial Gardens at 7632 Hood Rd, Charlotte. Survivors include wife, Margaret Ann Tyndall of Stanfield; son, Curtis Tyndall of Locust; daughter, Debra (Michael) Martin of Stanfield; son, Craig (Neile) Pickering of Albemarle; daughter, Amy (Kip) Clark of Stanfield; brothers, Lester (Betty) Tyndall, and Muriel (Susan) Tyndall both of Deep Run, NC; thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
