James Roberts, Sr
April 16, 1941 — February 28, 2016
James Don Roberts, Sr. 74 years of age, of Badin, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at his home.
Mr.Roberts was born April 16, 1941 in Blue Ridge, Alabama to the late Dorine Roberts. James was also known as "Flash" to many, due to the speed of his work. At the age of 70 he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Prospect Baptist Church. This fact he was extremely proud of. He will always be remembered as a loving brother, husband, father and Pawpaw.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Prospect Baptist Church, Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Stoney Benfield.
Survivors include: wife, Dorothy Roberts of the home; daughters, Marie Lowder of Badin, Vickie Rapadas of Albemarle; sons, James Don Roberts, Jr. of Citrus Springs, FL, Kenneth Roberts of Lenoir; grandchildren, Sean Lowder, Brandy Lowder, Charla Sandifer, Trinida Rapadas, Jacqulin Love, Vincent Rapadas, James Don Roberts, III, Janna Darlene and Anna Marie Roberts; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie McPhail and brother, Charles Roberts.
