James Robert Mullis

James "Jim" Robert Mullis, 90, of Concord, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Jim was born September 4, 1934, in Union County, NC to the late Henry Lee Mullis and the late Beulah Baucom Mullis. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Frances Thomas and Rachel Smith; and brother, Harold Lee Mullis.

Survivors include wife of 70 plus years, Frances Mullis of Concord, NC; son, Blaine (Sandy) Mullis of Kannapolis, NC; grandsons, Jackson 'Grant' (Samantha Vargas) Mullis of Harrisburg, NC and James 'Evan' (Alexis Parker) Mullis of Landis, NC; brother, Carroll C. (Darlene) Mullis of Kannapolis, NC; and half siblings, Gail Jernigan, Dale Mullis and Phillip Mullis.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:45 pm, Thursday, May 22, 2025, at New Hope Worship Center, 452 Brookwood Ave. NE, Concord, NC. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm officiated by Pastor Dale Jenkins and Pastor Larry Morgan. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis, at 601 Mt. Olivet Rd, Concord, NC.

Jim was in the hosiery business for 40+ years, working at several, however, mainly running Concord Hosiery Mill. He served in the US Army and also obtained a degree from Biscayne Southern College. Jim was a hard worker and believed hard work was good for the soul. In his younger days he enjoyed bowling and has always been an antique and classic car enthusiast. Most important to Jim was his family and he always enjoyed watching his son and grandsons play sports. He suffered with Lewy Body Dementia, but never let it stop him from serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
