James Edwin Mozeley, Jr., lovingly known as "Jay" passed away on March 13, 2026. He was the loving and devoted husband to his wife Tonya.
Born on December 11, 1957, he was the beloved son of James Edwin Mozeley and June Sanders Mozeley.
Jay was a proud father to his son, James E. Mozeley, III "Jimmy", and his daughter, Lisa Blue ("LD")(Brandon). He was a devoted grandfather to his cherished granddaughters, Rilee Blue and Ella Blue. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Mozeley.
A founding member of the Rolling Thunder Grand Strand Chapter 3 (RTSC3), Jay was passionate about honoring veterans and supporting his community. He proudly participated in many memorial rides, including the 9/11, "Flags over the Bridges", Camp Kenmo, Patriots Day, July 4th march on the beach, poker runs, and Seahaven. His dedication and patriotism left a lasting impact on all who rode beside him or served on committees with him.
Jay was a local business owner, of Jay's at the Lake and with sister, J&J Tavern and Jay's at Little River. Through his businesses, he built lasting friendships and became a familiar and welcoming presence in the community.
Jay will be remembered for his loyalty, generous spirit, love of family, and commitment to the causes he believed in. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, service and deep devotion to those he loved.
Services for Jay will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, Thursday, March 26, 2026. Visitation will be at 2:00pm - 3:15pm, with the funeral service starting at 3:30pm in the funeral home chapel. Immediately following the service will be the burial at Carolina Memorial Park-Harrisburg cemetery.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
