It is with great sadness to report that James Edward (Eddie) McEachern, 70, of Concord, NC, passed away at Tucker Hospice Inpatient unit on May 16, 2026, following complications of chronic asthma and Covid.
Born on March 14, 1956 in Albemarle, NC as the son of Reuben H. McEachern and Ora Lee C. Harvell.
From 1978-1989, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a Registered Nurse achieving rank of Captain. The time in the military instilled in him a lifelong devotion of service to our country, his family, his medical career and to God. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Ann Spielvogel, daughter, Sara Rose (Brandon) Ekblad, and brother, Douglas A. (Donna) McEachern along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 6:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, 460 Branchview Drive NE, Concord, NC. Mass service will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 1:30 pm at St. James The Greater Catholic Church, 139 Manor Avenue SW,Concord, NC 28025. Burial will follow at St. James The Greater Catholic Church Cemetery, 2323 Gold Hill Road, Concord, NC 28025.
