James "Jim" Dennis Kyzour, 77, of Concord, NC, previously of Westlake, OH, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Liberty Lane Hospice House at the Salisbury VA.
Jim was born March 26, 1948, in Cleveland, OH, to the late James Joseph Kyzour and the late Marybelle Phyllis Hiller Kyzour. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Auerbach.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army. He received the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service in the Republic of Vietnam from July 1967 to July 1968. He was also awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Sharpshooter (Rifle), Vietnam Service Medal and two Overseas Bars. Jim retired after 40 years of service at The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland where he proudly served as a security officer. In his free time Jim enjoyed working with his hands to build various wood-worked projects, keeping a well manicured yard and enjoying time with family & friends. Jim was a very kind, considerate person, who always put others first. He had a great sense of humor and truly enjoyed making people laugh. Most of all, Jim was a loving husband and dearly loved his entire family. Jim will be dearly missed and forever loved.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years, Larissa "Laura" Kyzour of Concord, NC; stepson, Mark (Sara) Davis of Huntersville, NC; sister, Sandra (Ed) Gull of Minneapolis, MN; step-grandchildren, Avery and Caleb Davis; nephew, Matthew; and nieces, Heather and Tamara.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 am - 10:15 am, Friday, February 13, 2026, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 am. Burial with military honors will follow at 12:30 pm at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury.
