James "Jimmy" Franklin Heglar, Jr.

James "Jimmy" Franklin Heglar, Jr., 81, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

He was born November 19, 1944 in Cabarrus County to the late James Franklin Heglar, Sr. and the late Mildred Lee Cline Heglar.

He graduated from W. R. Odell High School in 1963. He co-owned J & J House of Beauty and worked there for 36 years. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army.

After retiring he raised chow dogs and collected antiques until his death

Survivors include sister, Janie Hensley of Mount Pleasant, NC; nephews, Alan Hensley of Mt. Pleasant, NC and Jeff Hensley of Albemarle, NC.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Methodist Church. The funeral service will be at 11:00 officiated by Minister Neill Shaw. Burial will follow at the Salem Methodist Church Cemetery at 20987 NC 73 Hwy, Albemarle.
