James Dennis

James “Jr.” Dennis, 79, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Fred Carpenter and Rev. Ron Honeycutt, will be held at Main Street UMC on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at 11:00 am with a 30 minute state prior to the service. Burial will follow at Wightman United Methodist Church Cemetery, Anson County. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Jr. was born on February 14, 1933, to Lillian Mae Cook Dennis of Albemarle and the late James Theodore Dennis. He is also preceded in death by his wife Jean Edwards Dennis in 1999. Mr. Dennis is survived by one daughter, Ann Kingrey and husband Bill Kingrey of Richmond, TX; one son, Stephen Dennis of Albemarle; one sister, Jeanenne Harkey and husband Bobby of Albemarle; and five grandchildren, Will Kingrey, Ashley Dennis, Beau Kingrey, Chad Dennis and Emily Dennis.
