James Baucom

James Mikell Baucom, 55, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Mr. Baucom was born April 25, 1957 in Union County to the late Boyce Edward Baucom and Julia Little Baucom. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Ray Baucom and his sister, Mae Parker. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, October 26, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3601 Sikes Mill Rd., Monroe, NC 28110. Rev. John Gallagher, Rev. Rile Baucom and Rev. Hank Parker will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include his son, Michael Baucom and his daughter, Courtney Baucom, both of Monroe; his brother, Leonard Baucom of Monroe; his sisters, Cora Manus of Monroe; Frances Thomas of Monroe; Peggy Russell of Aquadale; Doris Knight of Monroe, and Vickie Helms of Monroe; his grandchildren, Kylie and Madison Baucom; and his girlfriend, Ann Rushing of Monroe. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Baucom family.
