Homer Burris

Homer Melvin Burris, 94 years of age, of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, VA.
Mr. Burris was born October 7, 1921 in Stanly County to the late George Henderson Burris and the late Magdaleen Burris.
He was also preceded in death by wife, Mildred Burleson Burris, and son Melvin Burris.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm, Thursday January 21, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm, at Hartsell Funeral Home's, Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Brad Lynch. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Albemarle.
Survivors include two daughters, Denita (Frank) Culp of Waynesboro, VA, and Sharon Chance of Albemarle; granddaughter, Sherry Redwine-Russell of Albemarle, grandson, Gary (Laura) Redwine of Charlotte; and two great-grandchildren.
