Homer Nelson Bost, 76, of 2100 Simplicity Rd., Concord, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Homer was born May 30, 1937 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late William Nelson Bost and Clara McClure Bost. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Herman Daniel Bost. He was an icon for the City of Concord for 33 1/2 years as a purchasing agent, and retired in 2010. Homer was a founding member of Allen Fire Department and served on the board of directors. He is a member of Saint Martin Lutheran Church of Concord, where he served as an elder for years. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 7 until 9 pm. A celebration of his life will be held at the Church at The Way, 7557 Ruben Linker Road, Concord on Saturday, September 28th at 4 pm, officiated by Rev. Buck Canupp and Rev. Jeff Eudy. He will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home, 5851 Cedar Ridge Ln. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Jean Eudy Bost; daughters, Camille Elaine Bost, and Bobbie Jean Queen (Johnny); grandchildren, Andrew Smith, and Garrett Ballard both of Concord, Michelle Queen of Wilmington, NC, and Joshua Queen (Michelle) of Dalhart, TX; one great-grandchild, Jacob Queen of Dalhart, TX; sisters, Wilby Garmon (Bob) of Concord, Julia Hartsell (Gary) of Midland, and Melissa Wiggins (Randy) of Conway, SC.
