Herbert was born August 12, 1949 in Mount Gilead, NC., to the late Herbert Hoover Goode and Della Parker Goode. Herbert was preceded in death by his son Derek Sinatra Goode and grandson Zachariah Harris, three sisters Vira A. Goode, Earlene G. Jones and Angela J. Goode and brother William C. Mack.
Herbert graduated from West Montgomery High school, then gained his certificate at Stanly Community for Entrepreneurship (ETR) course. He was CEO of Goode's grading Bobcat service. Herbert was also a member of the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the First Assembly of Albemarle for over 25 years were he served as Usher.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Friday, March 22, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Bobby McRae. Burial will follow at the Thomasville Missionary Church Cemetery at 233 Thomasville Church Road, Mount Gilead.
Survivors include his cherished wife, Sandra Goode of Kannapolis, NC, son, Nathan Harris of Norwood, NC , precious granddaughter Xuperior Electra Harris, a devoted grandson Fabion Hall, grandchildren Jordyn Harris, R.J. Harris, Tevin Collins, Quinn Collins, Devin Harris, LaTonya Harris, Darrius Harris and Naquian Harris, sisters; Renee Goode- Manley of Kingston, NC , Sandra K. Goode of Greensboro, NC and Teresa G. (Rickey) Lilly of Kannapolis, NC, brothers; Whitley (Rhoda) Goode of Mt. Gilead, NC and William C. Townsend of Highpoint, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Memorials maybe be shared to Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis and Sangar Heart and Vascular Unit of Atrium Health.
