Harriett was born May 19, 1949, in Concord, NC, to the late Johnny and Agnes White.
Over the past few years, Harriett has suffered greatly with every health scare in the book. Despite this, she persevered and continued to blossom through these difficulties. Like a flower growing between the cracks of concrete-- Harriett flourished.
You’d often find Harriett outside, basking in the sunlight and enjoying the fresh air. Each and every afternoon, you’d be able to find her outside in her backyard surrounded by the flowers she took such great care of. Her favorite time of the year was by far the spring, as she’d get to watch her flowers rebloom, and watch as her hummingbirds reappear to feed in her yard. Though her more recent health scares forced her away from her beloved garden, she was always surrounded by her beautiful flowers.
Harriett, often known to many as ‘Mimi’, deeply loved and cherished each and every one of her family members. From the inside out, Harriett always had so much love to give. Even to those who weren’t blood related, she was the grandmother that they never knew how much they needed.
Harriett’s seeds of love will grow on forever in our hearts, and will blossom into a beautiful, eternal garden.
In addition to her parents, Harriet was preceded in death by siblings Jeff White and Kay White Brindle, as well as beloved husband Elmer Sanders, and cherished cat, Mittens.
Survivors include beloved daughters, Cindy (Duane) Burry and Maggie Sanders; granddaughter, Caitlyn Burry; grand-cat, Milo; brother, Ken (Janice) White; as well as her nieces and nephews.
A memorial service in celebration of Harriett’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Bethel Church of Midland, 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland. There will be no receiving, but friends and family are invited to attend the service.
